The appearance of cannabis seeds is a question that raises numerous questions amongst growers. We often get asked about how cannabis seeds should seem, with regards to their dimensions, shape and color, as these characteristics are believed to be closely related to seed quality. In this post we take a detailed look at the key physical characteristics of cannabis seeds in order to clarify any doubts that you may have.

So in this case, an increase in size could be a clear indicator of this supplementation of calcium and magnesium, which is done in order to remedy that macronutrient deficiency during growth. This has no effect on the plant's potential for germination, growth, flowering, or harvest, nor on the development of the organoleptic properties of the buds (aroma, flavour and effect).

Yet once more, this is a deceptive physical attribute that does not ensure the germination capacity or overall characteristics of an individual seed. A premium strain can also be light or dark grey in colour.

Critical + is a clear example that colour, contrary to what many growers believe, is not always a direct quality indicator: these unquestionably high-quality seeds display a very pale grey, almost white-ish grey, to a mid-tone grey colour.

However, a greenish colour is a definite sign of immaturity, which means that the seed hasn't developed fully or it hasn't received all the necessary resources to attain full maturity. In this specific case, if you acquire seeds with this color you need to contact your supplier right away and try to have them exchanged.

Another aspect that can be deceptive is the fact that a mature, freshly-harvested cannabis seed has a more vibrant and darker colour than after it's been stored for 1 to 2 months.
